You can grant the spell one of the following Areas of Effect, if the spell already has an Area of Effect and you are changing it, only increase the spell’s Circle by the difference betweem each AoE's Circle modifiers:
Burst. Increase the spell’s Circle by 1. Each entity within 1m (Melee) of you must make an Agility Trait Test against your Spell TG.
On a failed Test, the entity is affected by the spell.
You can increase the Circle by 1, to cause the spell to deal half as much damage on a successful Test.
You can also increase the Circle by 1 for each metre the Radius increases by.
Cone. Increase the spell’s Circle by 1. The spell gains an AoE "3m Cone, Emanating from You". Each entity within the AoE must make an Agility Trait Test against your Spell TG.
On a failed Test, the entity is affected by the spell.

You can also increase the Circle by 1 for each metre the size of the Cone increases by.
Cube. Increase the spell’s Circle by 2. The spell gains an AoE "2m Cube, Centred on Target". Each entity within the AoE must make an Agility Trait Test against your Spell TG.
On a failed Test, the entity is affected by the spell.
You can increase the Circle by 1, to cause the spell to deal half as much damage on a successful Test.
You can also increase the Circle by 2 for each metre the size of the Cube increases by.
Line. Increase the spell’s Circle by 1. The spell gains an AoE "1m x Xm Line, Emanating from You, where X equals the Range of the spell (up to 3m)". Each entity within the AoE must make an Agility Trait Test against your Spell TG.
On a failed Test, the entity is affected by the spell.
You can increase the Circle by 1, to cause the spell to deal half as much damage on a successful Test.
You can also increase the Circle by 1 for every 3 metres the size of the Line's Length increases by.

A spell can only have one Area of Effect option chosen.
You can increase the Range of a spell from Self to Touch, and Touch to 1m for 1 Circle per step.
If the spell has a Range of 1m or more, you can increase the Range by 3m per spell Circle added. The inverse can also be true to decrease the spell’s Circle, to a minimum of 1st-Circle.
If the spell has a Range greater than 1m, and Targets multiple entities in an AoE, you can increase the spell’s Circle by 2, to either have it only affect Allied entities or to only affect Hostile entities.
You can increase the Circle of the spell by 2, to remove either the Somatic or Verbal Component of a spell.
You can increase the Circle of the spell by 2, to make it so damage can’t break your Concentration on that spell.
If the spell has a Casting Time of 10 Minutes or more and does not have the Ritual Spell Tag, you can increase the spell’s Circle by 1 to grant it the Ritual Spell Tag.
If the spell has a Casting Time using AP, you can increase or decrease the AP by 1, decreasing or increasing the Circle of the spell by 1 Circle per AP respectively.
If the spell requires a Trait Test to resist, avoid, or end its effects, you can increase the Circle of the spell by 1 to change the Trait used for the Test to any other Trait.
You can exchange any of the following conditions for another listed here: Charmed, Dazed, Frightened, Poisoned, Prone, or Restrained.
By increasing the spell's Circle by 2, or by 4 if the spell has an AoE, you can add any one of the following conditions listed here: Charmed, Dazed, Frightened, Poisoned, Prone, or Restrained. The spell will require the Target to succeed on a Knowledge Trait Test to resist the effect.
On a failed Test, the Target gains a Degree of the condition, or if the condition has no Degrees they just gain the condition.
You can increase the Circle of the spell by an additional 2 Circles, to remove the ability to repeat the Trait Test at the end of each of the affected Target’s Turns.
You can increase or reduce the size of the damage/healing die by one, increasing or reducing the Circle of the spell by 1 respectively. If the spell has an AoE double the spell’s Circle change. The damage/healing die cannot be increased above a d12.
You may change a Damage Type dealt by a spell with Acid, Cold, Fire, Force, Lightning, or Poison damage.
You can change it instead to Necrotic, Psychic, Radiant, Thunder or Vorpal damage, increasing the spell’s Circle by 1.
You make it so no matter what, the spell’s damage can only reduce a Target to 0 HP, and cannot kill them due to the Massive Damage rule. They gain the Dying condition but are Stabilised.
You can increase the size of the damage die by one as per the Damage/Healing Die Modification without the Spell Circle increase.
However, if you roll a 1 on the d20 when making the Attack Roll for the spell, or the Target making a Trait Test to avoid or reduce the spell’s effect rolls a 20 on the d20, the spell Targets you. The spell either automatically hits you or you automatically fail the Trait Test to avoid its effect.
If the spell is an AoE spell it becomes Centred on You.
